Snowfall adds in a winter theme as well as a "Heating" mechanic that works more or less like water pipes, as well as stuff like snowplows, etc. Green Cities gives you more options for services, etc, basically "eco-friendly" versions of most polluting services, and some other adjustments to cim behavior(ie, how they behave around pollution etc, and how much garbage they produce. Campuses, of course, gives you customizable colleges/universities/technical institutes, and some other assets. Park Life let's you make custom parks, zoos, amusement parks, and more, plus gives you some nice assets for decorating stuff. Giving you the power to destroy your city, it also makes life much easier since it gives you many ways to deal with disasters(and sometimes prevent them), and will save you from rampant forest fires. Natural Disasters basically says it all in the name.

The Industries DLC gives you special districts that allow you to place ploppable industrial buildings that serve a specific function(ie, ore extractors and processors in an ore industry district), adds ground resources(oil, ore, forestry, agriculture, fishing), and adds unique factories and warehouses to make a complete production chain(and a ton of profit). The Mass Transit DLC gives you much better public transit options and helps with the base traffic AI by adjusting it slightly to prefer mass transit(if available in your city). Then, you should start with mods - but try to limit it to the most necessary or useful mods(stuff like TM:PE, Node Controller, Move It, etc).Īs far as DLC goes, there's a few that stand out in terms of what you get from them. Keep playing till you get bored or run out of creative ideas using what you already have. But learn from it, get better at planning, get better at implementing those plans. Play the game like the developers intended, have fun, and build some ridiculous cities. Get a feel for it, get used to the mechanics, go insane from the constant background noises at high volume. Personally, I suggest playing the game without mods at first. Have suggestions for the sidebar / topbar? Mail the mods!
